This course discusses state-of-the-art topics in behavioural and experimental economics and combines the presentation of key concepts with the discussion of empirical findings and hands-on applications in an interactive format. Each session highlights necessary elements for establishing an experiment-oriented mindset and culture in companies and organizations with special emphasis on understanding individual behaviour and group dynamics. The fundamental topics covered encompass an introduction to the experimental method in economics and the social sciences, decision-making under uncertainty, biases and irrationalities, the role of AI in business and economics, cooperation and reciprocity, thereby setting the ground for in-depth exploration of decision-making processes, leadership and behavioural change. The course aims at making students familiar with the frontier of research in the respective topics as well as to apply the research findings to economic and social behaviour in organizations.
